In PITCHcrm, you will see the terms “Static” and “Dynamic” when creating contact lists or new campaigns. Which one you choose will vary, depending on what you’re trying to accomplish. To easily understand them, let’s break down what each means in relation to contact lists and campaigns.
Static vs. Dynamic Contact Lists:
When you create a new contact list, you are given a choice between a static list and a dynamic list. In short, Static means the new list will NOT update automatically, a Dynamic list will be updated automatically. In most cases, you’ll want to use a dynamic list type, so your contact lists will automatically update with new/updated customers. For instance, if a public player is changed to a member player type in your tee sheet, PITCHcrm will automatically add them to your member contact list.
With a Static contact list you are able to select specific contacts to include in your list, however, this list will not automatically update from changes in your tee sheet. Create a static list to communicate with event groups or employees, you can manually update these lists when necessary.
Static vs. Dynamic Campaigns:
The two types of campaigns in PITCHcrm are Static and Dynamic. A static campaign or contact list campaign is sent to a list of contacts on a specific date and time you choose. The newsletter or update emails you’ve seen from businesses are a great example of a static campaign.
A dynamic campaign is used to automatically send messages when specific criteria is met, and will have the biggest impact on your marketing results long term. With a dynamic campaign, you can choose what actions trigger an email to send automatically, like a checked-in round or new reservation. A few common examples of these are a ‘Day After Thank You’ campaign, and a ‘We Miss You’ campaign that are sent based on the last round a customer has played.
